IPFS pinning
service for
NFT communities

Pin NFT images, metadata and whole collections to IPFS with unlimited bandwidth on every paid plan. Free plan to start. No surprise bills when your collection goes viral.

// why octopin

built for collections,
not enterprise sales teams.

01

unlimited bandwidth

No bandwidth caps or overage fees on paid plans. Your collection going viral never triggers a bill.

02

fits a real collection

1 GB and 500 files free. Enough to try Octopin with a small collection; $5/mo when it grows.

03

real IPFS, real CIDs

Helia + Cloudflare R2 + cid.contact IPNI. Your CIDs resolve in OpenSea, MetaMask, and every public IPFS gateway, same as Pinata's.

// how it works

pin to IPFS in three steps.

An IPFS pinning service keeps your files online on the IPFS network so anyone can fetch them by their content ID (CID). Octopin stores your files, announces them to the network and serves them through a fast gateway, so your NFTs load everywhere.

step 1

upload files or a folder

Drop in images, JSON metadata or a whole collection folder, or pin from Kubo, IPFS Desktop and scripts with an API key. No wallet or tokens needed.

step 2

get a CID

Octopin returns a standard, Kubo-compatible CID. Put ipfs://<CID>/ in your tokenURI or baseURI, never a gateway hostname.

step 3

served everywhere

Your content is announced to the public IPNI indexer (cid.contact) and served from gateway.octopin.app, ipfs.io, dweb.link and any IPFS-aware app.

// for developers

pin from your IPFS tools,
not just the dashboard.

Octopin supports the standard IPFS Pinning Service API. Create an API key, add Octopin to Kubo or IPFS Desktop once, and pin from the command line, CI or any script.

ipfs pin remote service add octopin https://api.octopin.app/psa <your-api-key>
ipfs pin remote add --service=octopin --name=my-collection <CID>

// what people pin

built for NFT storage,
good for any IPFS content.

nft collections

images and metadata

Host PFP collections, generative art and token metadata JSON. Pin the folder once and reference every token as ipfs://<CID>/<id>.json.

migrations

re-pin existing CIDs

Moving from Storacha, web3.storage or NFT.Storage? Paid plans can import content by CID or from a CAR file. Same CID, no contract changes.

dapps

assets for web3 apps

Pin images, documents and static files your dapp references by CID, with trustless raw block and CAR retrieval included on every tier.

viral drops

mint day traffic

Bandwidth is unlimited on every paid plan. A sold-out mint or a viral collection never turns into a bandwidth bill.

looking for an IPFS pinning alternative?

Honest side-by-side comparisons with the IPFS pinning services NFT projects use most. We say where they are the better pick, too.

// faq

IPFS pinning questions.

What is an IPFS pinning service?

IPFS nodes only keep content they are told to keep. A pinning service runs always-on infrastructure that keeps your files (pins them) and serves them to anyone who asks for their CID. Without a pin, content can disappear from the network once nobody else has a copy.

Is the free plan really free?

Yes. The free plan includes 1 GB of storage, up to 500 files and 25 MB per file. No credit card is required. Bandwidth is unlimited on paid plans; free accounts get fair-use bandwidth. Paid plans start at $5/mo for 25 GB, or $50/yr with 2 months free.

Will my NFTs show up on OpenSea and in MetaMask?

Yes. Octopin returns standard CIDs and announces them to the public IPNI indexer (cid.contact), the same channel other pinning services use. Marketplaces and wallets resolve ipfs:// URIs through their own gateways and find the content on Octopin.

Can I move content from Pinata, Storacha or NFT.Storage?

Yes. You can re-upload the original files, which produces the same CIDs, or on paid plans import existing content by CID or from a CAR file. Because CIDs are content-addressed, your contract's tokenURI does not need to change.

Is there an API?

Yes. Every plan can create API keys and upload from scripts or CI. Octopin also supports the standard IPFS Pinning Service API, so Kubo (ipfs pin remote) and IPFS Desktop can pin to it directly; pinning existing CIDs that way needs a paid plan.

Do I need a crypto wallet or tokens?

No. Sign in with Google and pay by card like any normal SaaS. There is no wallet, no gas and no token involved.

What happens to my CIDs if I ever leave Octopin?

They keep working as long as someone pins the content. CIDs are portable: pin the same files with any other IPFS provider and every ipfs:// link resolves again. That is why we recommend ipfs:// URIs in contracts instead of any gateway hostname, including ours.
